Each day five children die as a result of abuse or neglect. On average, a child abuse report is made every 10 seconds—a total of approximately three million child abuse reports annually. Being proactive and aware of the warning signs is the first step in recognizing a potential situation. Through Big Brothers Big Sister’s affiliation with the Louisiana Children’s Trust Fund we are able to offer sexual abuse trainings where we emphasize child abuse sexual indicators and youth development indicators.
